Description of services: Volunteer drivers will drive either their own car or the client’s car to a medical appointment. We ask the client to reimburse the driver for petrol. The client is able to take a support person but the driver will act as a support person themselves if required. Most trips are for one person.
The client phones the Te Kuiti Bureau and the interviewer on duty will then contact a driver. The arrangement details are then made between the driver and client once the initial contact has been established.
Area covered: We will drive to Waikato , Rotorua Hospital, Te Awamutu , Otorohanga and Te Kuiti

Description of services:
  • Mobility transport, for access to health care and other services including provision for wheelchairs, supporting families within our region. 
  • Encourage participation and inclusion in the community. 
  • Transport to sit and be fit programs. 
  • Provided transport for the visually impaired group to attended Operatunity (Hamilton concerts 5 times per year) 
  • .Provide support to local rest home transporting client to and from for day stays. 
  • Provide support to local hospital to transport patients to and from home. 
  • Provide transport for social gathering such as group Christmas parties for the elderly. Provide transport and assistance to clients attending funerals and special family gatherings.
  • Provide support to people needing access to health care and social services through operating a mobility van. 
  • Reducing social isolation and increasing independence for the mobility limited within our community.
